Parkland is launching a brand-new 56-bed Medical/Surgical Unit in October 2026, and we're looking for experienced Registered Nurses who want more than just a job—they want the opportunity to help shape a unit's culture, influence best practices, and make a lasting impact from day one.
This state-of-the-art unit features 20 double-occupancy rooms and 16 private rooms, serving a diverse adult patient population with a variety of medical and surgical needs. What You'll Do
As a Senior Registered Nurse on our Medical/Surgical team, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing comprehensive patient assessments
- Developing and implementing individualized nursing care plans
- Delivering skilled nursing care and evaluating patient outcomes
- Coordinating care across the healthcare team
- Educating patients and families on treatment, recovery, and discharge planning
- Advocating for patients while respecting cultural, religious, and personal preferences
- Recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
- Serving as a Charge Nurse and/or preceptor when needed
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice

Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Texas RN license or valid Compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Current BLS certification through:
- American Heart Association (AHA)
- American Red Cross (ARC)
- Military Training Network (MTN)
Preferred
Acute care nursing experience

Hiring Incentive Eligibility
To qualify for the hiring incentive, candidates must:
- Have a minimum of 2 years of RN experience
- Not be currently employed by Parkland
- Not have been employed by Parkland within the past 12 months

Current Texas RN license or valid Compact RN license
